Take That to Quit Touring

Posted July 24 2008 12:31 PM

Take That’s next tour will be their last.
The band - who staged a successful comeback in 2006 with the album 'Beautiful World’ – are currently recording their new LP and plan to tour when it is finished, but claim the performances will probably be the last as their 2007 'Beautiful World’ shows left them exhausted.
Jason Orange said: 'After the tour it was weird to go cold turkey but my body did appreciate the rest. I was knackered. I think we have one more tour left in us. I sound old saying that but I can’t see us being like the Rolling Stones and being in Take That when I am 40 or 50 years old.'
The 38-year-old singer also said the group are staying loyal to their pop roots with their new album, although some of the tracks are 'experimental'. He added to Britain’s Daily Star newspaper: 'We are in the studio and it is going really well. Of course it will be a pop album – what else could we do? You do get some bands where their egos take over and they come back with a rockier sound but we know what we are good at and we are sticking to it.'
Jason, who is joined in Take That by bandmates Gary Barlow, Mark Owen and Howard Donald, claims the new album is going well and should be out in time for Christmas as planned.
