Rod
Stewart’s son has been accused of stealing his ex-girlfriend’s father’s car.
Sean Stewart, 27, allegedly took the vehicle from the Los Angeles home of 19-year-old Caleigh
Peters last month after she ended their relationship.
A spokesperson for Caleigh’s father, Hollywood producer Jon Peters, said:
'Caleigh dumped him and wouldn’t take his calls. He went looking for her at
Jon’s house and took the car, which had keys in it.
Sean called Caleigh and said, 'Come and meet me if you want your dad’s car
back.’ 'When Jon noticed his car missing, he asked Caleigh if she had it and at
first she said she knew nothing about it. Only two days later did she tell us
Sean had it. When her dad told her it was reported stolen, she informed Sean.'
It is claimed Sean then abandoned the vehicle at a nearby club. Peters – whose
film credits include 'Flashdance’ and 'Superman Returns’ – is now pressing
charges. However, Sean’s lawyer Dana Cole denies the allegations.
She said: 'Once Mr. Stewart learned of this accusation, he immediately met with
the LAPD detective on the case and explained he had been loaned the car by Mr. Peters’
daughter.'
This isn’t the first time Sean has been in trouble with police. In 2002, the
reformed drug addict was jailed for 90 days after attacking a man outside a
nightclub. He currently faces assault charges following claims he attacked a
couple with bricks after being denied entrance to a Hollywood
party last year. He denies all charges.
