Usher has
reportedly cancelled his new album to concentrate on his family life.
The rapper and singer, who is expecting a boy with new wife Tameka Foster next
month, has decided spending time with Tameka is more important than working on
new material.
A source told the New York Post newspaper: "The album isn't happening
anymore, due to issues in his personal life, even though it had been in the
works for over a year.
"He originally put it on the back burner when Tameka got pregnant, but now
it looks like it's not going to happen at all. "Usher only listens to
Tameka now, and she wants all his focus to be on her and the baby."
Last month, the 28-year-old musician, whose fragrances 'Usher: Men' and 'Usher:
Women' were due to be released at the same time as the album, claimed the
record was almost finished and he was looking forward to its release.
Usher said: "I'm working on my album. It'll be out, I'm not sure when. I'm
on my way. I'm actually just about finished. I've been working on it all this
year amongst all the other things I've been doing. It's been a somewhat
tumultuous year for me. But you go through something to get to something.
"I'm a married man with a baby on the way - you've got to love that. That's
the next major step. A lot of what I plan to offer with this album is kind of
standing in this spot. The king's back. I'm not going to say 'back,' I never
left."
