Madonna takes on Elton at Ivor Novellos

Posted April 24 2007 12:52 PM

Madonna and Sir Elton John will go head to head in two categories at this year's Ivor Novello awards.

Madonna's Sorry and Sir Elton's I Don't Feel Like Dancing – which was performed by the Scissor Sisters – have both been nominated for international hit of the year and most performed work.

Also nominated in the international hit category is Robbie Williams with his song Rudebox.

Arctic Monkeys continue their run of success – the group won two awards at the Brits earlier this year – with a nomination for best song musically and lyrically for their number one hit When The Sun Goes Down.

Amy Winehouse's Rehab, Hot Chip's Over and Over and Bodyrox's Yeah Yeah are up for best contemporary song.

The prestigious awards – now in their 52nd year – will be held on May 24th at the Grosvenor House Hotel, Park Lane, London.
