R&B singer R. Kelly was forced to miss a scheduled court date appearance this week for child pornography charges following a surgery on Sunday for a burst appendix. The singer’s next court date is set for Feb. 21st.
 
Kelly’s attorney Terence Gillespie said the singer was admitted to Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami on Sunday for the burst appendix. His court appearance was scheduled for Wednesday.

Kelly is said to be in good condition, and was scheduled to be released from the hospital this week.

The singer, whose real name is Robert Kelly and is 40 years old, was charged with engaging in videotaped sex acts with an underage girl in 2002, and has entered a not guilty plea to all 14 counts of child pornography.
 
He is allowed to travel for business purposes following a rulling from a Cook County judge, and was in Miami for a scheduled performance at a party during the Super Bowl weekend.
