Jermaine Dupri finds new job at Island RecordsPosted February 7 2007 10:06 PMThe Universal Music Group was on Wednesday (Feb. 7) to announce Jermaine Dupri as president of urban music for Island Records, sources confirm to Billboard.com. Dupri stepped down as president of urban music at Virgin in October 2006. At Virgin he was responsible for signing Dem Franchize Boyz and pacted with OutKast member Big Boi`s Purple Ribbon imprint. Dupri exited Virgin following lackluster sales of his girlfriend Janet Jackson`s latest disc, '20 Y.O,' which Dupri co-executive produced. As a producer, he`s helmed hits for Usher, Mariah Carey and TLC, among many others. UMG could not be reached for comment at deadline. Taken from M&C Keywords :
