Break's Over: Coldplay Tap Super-Producer Brian Eno For X&Y Follow-UpPosted February 6 2007 10:04 PMWhen we last heard from Coldplay, we didn't actually hear from Coldplay. Rather, it was a spokesperson for their label, Capitol Records, who did the talking, dispelling rumors that the guys were about to take a five-year hiatus to focus on their families. While refuting the hiatus rumors, Capitol spokesperson Ambrosia Healy did admit that the band's upcoming schedule was a tad light, saying Chris Martin and company were taking "a much-deserved break" and that there was "no timetable for them recording the follow-up to X&Y."
Four months later, it appears that break is over, as the band has begun work on a fourth album, tapping super-producer Brian Eno — who has worked with David Bowie, the Talking Heads and U2, and played synthesizer on X&Y — to helm the sessions. Taken from VH1
