Muse Get Inspired by Rage Against the Machine

Posted December 15 2006 12:48 PM

Growing up in England, the three members of Muse likely had plenty of memories from the Reading Festival. But when the lads from Teignmouth, Devon headlined the seminal U.K. event this past summer, the set they recalled was one from four L.A. rockers.

"The all-time great [concert] for me was Rage Against the Machine at Reading '96," says bassist Chris Wolstenholme. "I think all three of us were at that gig, and it was one of those that really made you want to be up there one day."

Wolstenholme admits the memory of that show was with them when they took the stage at Reading. "That was probably my favorite all-time gig to watch, and it was really strange 10 years down the line, almost to the day, we were playing in the same slot they played," he says. "It held some kind of weird significance for me."
