Daredevil Evil Knievel Sues Kanye West

Posted December 13 2006 12:53 PM

George W. Bush is about to be dislodged from the top of Kanye West's you-know-what-list -- by legendary motorcycle daredevil Evel Knievel.

The jumping giant is hopping mad at the rapper for allegedly "tarnishing his reputation" in the video for 'Touch the Sky' -- and rather than threaten to run over West's foot with his Harley, he's filed a multi-million dollar lawsuit to prove it. In the clip, West portrays a character named "Evel Kanyevel," donning a sequined suit to jump a chasm that looks quite a bit like the Snake River Canyon that the stuntman tried to leap back in 1974 -- a move that Knievel has taken exception to, objecting to being associated with West's "vulgar, sexual and racially questionable content."

Knievel told Florida 's the St. Petersburg Times that "In my opinion, this video maybe reflects West and his way of life, but not mine. I don't want my children or my grandchildren associated with this kind of thing." Since the 68-year-old cyclist's way of life has included a jail sentence for assault with a deadly weapon and arrests for beating an ex-girlfriend and soliciting an undercover cop for sex, we'd think that West's portrayal wouldn't seem so bad.
