Depeche Mode Pass the TorchPosted October 18 2006 03:13 PMDepeche Mode are continuing their campaign to reissue their catalog with recent, expanded versions of 'A Broken Frame,' 'Some Great Reward' and 'Songs of Faith and Devotion.' Like most artists, keyboardist Andrew Fletcher says the band doesn't really go back and listen to their own music except for work. "Listening to them does bring back a lot of memories," he tells AOL Music. "Certain tracks you think, 'Oh, that was actually quite good, that one.' Whereas before, you didn't really think it was that good." As the father of two, Fletcher says he has little choice lately but to hear the old songs. "I have two young children, and they're sort of really getting into it. They're playing old Depeche Mode all the time, so it's really trippy for me. They're 12 and 15 and that's really what I've been judging from, when I hear it in the next room." Fletcher jokes that the kids might one day take over the family business. "We're hoping to retire when all our kids get to about 16 and 17. Dave [Gahan]'s kids and Martin [Gore]'s kids are all similar ages. We'll retire and get out of the limelight, and we could have a whole new, young Depeche Mode coming out in a few years." Taken form AOL BLOG!
