Rihanna and Co. Beat Down Thom YorkePosted July 20 2006 05:10 PMThe 22nd edition of the oh-so-popular music series 'Now That's What I Call Music!' -- featuring smash hits by the likes of Rihanna, All American Rejects and 'Now' staple Kelly Clarkson -- captured the top spot on the charts this week, selling 397,000 copies, according to Nielsen SoundScan. That was enough to knock last week's No. 1, 'American V: A Hundred Highways,' the last record by American treasure Johnny Cash, from the position and out of the Top Five altogether. Thom Yorke's debut solo effort, 'Eraser,' sold 90,000 copies to land at No. 2. The Radiohead frontman was followed closely by yet another chart debut, Pimp C's 'Pimpalation,' which sold 87,000 copies to take the No. 3 slot. Canadian songbird Nelly Furtado dropped two spots this week, sliding to No. 4 with 58,000 copies of her latest, 'Loose.' Rounding out the Top Five was Gnarls Barkley, who stayed firmed at the position thanks to the massive hit 'Crazy.' Their album, 'St. Elsewhere,' sold another 55,000 copies.
