M.Y.N.C. Project mp3

M.Y.N.C. Project

Genres: Electro/Dance

M.Y.N.C. Project are renowned for their four-decks/ two-mixer shows and innumerable effects units, where they take DJing beyond simply playing other people’s music into the realms of musical creation and live performance, twisting pre-recorded sounds into new and original dancing spells. Mark Brown and Nick Corelli make up this dynamic duo, who have created their own brand of quality underground house and have been playing together for eight years.

M.Y.N.C. are also hugely talented producers and remixers. This year they have produced some massive club anthems with ‘Something On Your Mind’ (Apollo / Universal for UK, Yoshitoshi for US) and ‘Strobelight’ (Positiva / EMI), which was a collaboration with Danny Rampling. New single ‘R U Sure’ on Cr2 Records is causing a stir across the globe, a more underground creation. On the remix front they have reworked TV Rock, Danny Howells, Narcotic Thrust, Bush II Bush and in October delivered their finest remix to date – an rework of Detroit-classic ‘Pennies From Heaven’ by Kevin Saunderson’s Inner City.

Virgin Records and Saunderson will use it as the A-Side / Radio Edit for the record’s re-release, due to the incredible response. Outside of DJing and producing both are heavy hands within the music industry. Nick has just opened a new club in Loughborough called Rapture, a major addition to the Midlands club scene. A family-run business, M.Y.N.C will soon return home with a new residency, their first in the area since their career-defining time at Passion in Coalville (see below). Mark runs the hit factory that is Cr2 Records and was previously A&R for Credence Records (EMI) where he knocked-up over 25 top 40 UK singles. Brown signed ‘Put Your Hands Up For Detroit’ by Fedde Le Grand, set to reach Number One around the world.

They also do their bit for charity and organised a boat party to help the under privileged, all proceeds going to the NSPCC. 2005 saw the boys launch a new compilation series called ‘thisismyhouse’ for Incentive Music's respected offshoot Art & Craft. They also mixed Cr2’s new compilation series ‘United Nations of House’ which was released to celebrate labels 1st Birthday and showcased some of the best producers from around the globe. Look out for ‘Volume 2’ coming soon. M.Y.N.C. have also hit up the radio waves with appearances on various shows and stations including a BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix in May 2006 and July 2002, as well as a live mix from the Galaxy stage at Creamfields, warming-up for Goldfrapp.

In 2001, the boys fronted a TV show called ‘The Zone’. Other key career moments include their residency on the Amnesia terrace for Cream in Ibiza (2003/4), as well as a fortnightly residency at Coastline. M.Y.N.C. also held a residency at The Cross (also 03/4), and DJ-ed for Kylie Minogue and the Kill Bill 2 after-party. M.Y.N.C. started DJ-ing at Passion in 1999 in the Redroom, and the influential residency resulted in the pair being voted ‘Future Heroes for 2002’ in M8 Magazine.

In 2003, they moved into the Main Room of Passion, outgrowing the space that shaped their sound. The act then launched M.Y.N.C. Sessions at Leicester University in 2004, and this year held the same concept with their residency at Godskitchen’s Nitrogen Rooms. In 2006, they were nominated as Best Breakthrough DJs at the Ibiza DJ Awards – the accolade came after just one performance at Pacha. The act have also performed hugely successful tours in Australia and Asia, and visited South Africa, Serbia, Ukraine, Germany and beyond. Believe it or not there is still more to come from MYNC Project so keep 'em peeled!
