Funeral Fog are a traditional black metal band from Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada, located in the heart of the Maritime provinces. Their name is derived from a song from the famous Norwiegan black metal band Mayhem.

Members Krall and Nokturnis formed the group as a duo in December 1999, both were experienced musically and aggreed that they should play raw and uncomprimising black metal.

Almost three years later in May 2002, they recorded their debut Under the Black Veil which was then released in February 2003 and limited to 200 copies. The album received mostly positive reviews from the local and national heavy metal media due to the fact that the cold black metal production was very well executed and professionally done.

Their only live show occurred on August 3, 2002 when the band was still a duo. It was a private show, outdoors, by a fire pit. The band has no interest in playing future live shows.

In late 2003 a new drummer Shithammer joined Funeral Fog as they had previously been using a drum machine on their recordings. Then in June 2004, with the addition of the new member, they signed with Czech Republic label Eclipse Productions (now known as Long Ago Records) and re-recorded their debut album Under the Black Veil. The new effort was released in December 2004 and was an improvement from the previous as they added more guitar tracks, live drum recordings, and a superior production overall. In late 2004 they saw the arrival of another new member Deimus on guitar.

Between 2003 and 2006 they have also appeared on numerous music compilations, including Brave Words & Bloody Knuckles monthly Knuckletracks compilation.

Funeral Fog are currently working on their 2nd full-length album.
